Ana D. Schwab, Director of Government Affairs in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, has been appointed to serve as a Director for the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and the Pickerel-Crooked Lake Association. Ana was asked to serve on these two Boards as a result of her experience in water, wastewater, environmental and infrastructure matters.

“Preserving water quality, conservation, and addressing environmental effects on the watersheds is a critical mission,” said Ana Schwab. “Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and the Pickerel-Crooked Lake Association are stewards of the environment and protecting the watershed of Northern Michigan. It is an honor to serve such prestigious organizations.”

Ana’s appointment as a Director is a result of her continued pro-bono support and counsel to advance septic-to-sewer infrastructure and address water quality concerns in Northern Michigan communities and the Great Lakes. She has presented at the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys conference to help Michigan prepare for the implications of the federal regulatory PFAS landscape. In her role as Director for both Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and Pickerel-Crooked Lake Association, Ana will provide guidance and leadership on various initiatives to preserve and protect the lakes, streams, wetlands, and groundwater of the Great Lake Basin. She and the boards of both organizations will continue to implement policies and change through the education, advocacy and promotion of proper use of water resources.
