Michael T. Riddell represents public and private clients in various environmental law matters, with a particular focus on water and land use. He is a partner in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice group. He chairs the firm’s Local Government sub-practice group and also serves on the firm’s Ethics Committee.

Michael’s practice includes the representation of local governmental entities, including cities, special districts (water, sewer, fire protection, cemetery and school) and joint powers authorities. He also represents a variety of private sector clients, especially with regard to construction, water and land use matters. 

Michael has significant experience in dealing with statewide water issues, and represents the firm’s State Water Contractor clients at monthly meetings to discuss issues involving the water supply available from the State Water Project. He appears on behalf of clients before the State Water Resources Control Board, Regional Water Quality Control Board and the South Coast Air Quality Management District.

Michael is a native of San Bernardino, Calif. He received the Roger Kiley Fellowship to attend Notre Dame Law School, where he served as associate editor of the Law Review. Michael joined BB&K upon graduation.
