Matthew works extensively on issues related to CEQA, NEPA and associated environmental laws.
 
He interned with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in its Environmental Protection Unit.
 
Matthew earned his law degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Law.

Matthew Collins is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice group. Matthew works extensively on issues related to the California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act and associated environmental laws.

While in law school, he was a research editor on the UC Irvine Law Review and served on the Board of UCI Law’s Environmental Law Society. He also interned with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in its Environmental Protection Unit, received the 2015 Donald G. Hagman Land Use Law and Planning Scholar award, and received the Dean’s Award for performance in his Election Law course. Throughout his law school career, Matthew engaged in pro bono work, including assisting the California Student Sustainability Coalition Project with legal research.

He is a native of the Inland Empire and enjoys traveling, hiking and being outdoors. He is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
