Lisa Tobias is a paralegal in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Municipal Law practice group. She is a member of the ARC: Advanced Records Center team, which provides public agencies with comprehensive and cost-effective support for records-related matters, including California Public Records Act request review and processing.

Prior to joining BB&K, Lisa worked as a senior paralegal for both Hyundai Capital America and Southern California Edison, providing litigation and regulatory support, respectively. She has nearly 20 years of combined experience in legal support and e-discovery, and has also worked in other law firms in Louisiana, Texas and California.

Lisa is passionate about advocating for children in the foster care system, an interest she developed while assisting Southern California Edison attorneys who handled pro bono adoption cases received from Public Counsel. Lisa spent a year volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Children’s Court for Los Angeles County, and plans to continue her volunteer service as a CASA.

Originally from Illinois, Lisa lived in New Orleans for 10 years after law school before eventually relocating to the Los Angeles area. She  lives in Covina and, in her spare time, enjoys traveling (and travel planning), reading, relaxing in the pool and spending time with family, friends and her pets – her dogs, Lucky and Lily, and her cat, Rory.
