He also provides advice and counsel to private and public employers and assists with employment policy drafting and review.
He has experience dealing with public employee unions regarding unfair labor practices, collective bargaining and grievance resolution.

Ben Carney is an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Labor & Employment practice group. He represents private and public employers in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits that allege claims for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract and wage and hour violations, among other employment claims.
Ben provides advice and counsel to private and public employers regarding medical leaves, harassment complaints, discipline, wage and hour laws, ADA compliance and assists with drafting contracts and employee handbooks.
Ben is experienced with labor relations issues, including collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union certification/decertification and grievance resolution. He has experience with public employee unions, including public safety unions, and has handled all stages of the employee discipline and dismissal process.
While attending the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, Ben held leadership positions in the Journal of Law and Technology and Mock Trial program. Ben held externships at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and at a labor and employment law firm, where he then also worked following law school.
Ben grew up in Riverside and worked in campaigns and local government before attending law school. He is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
