Andrew’s extensive experience includes advising clients in:

  • California Surface Mining and Reclamation Act
  • California’s Proposition 65
  • Federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act
  • Clean Water Act
  • Clean Air Act


While Andrew’s first goal is to help clients avoid litigation, he is adept at guiding clients through beneficial settlement agreements and obtaining successful litigation results in both state and federal court. For example, Andrew successfully defended the environmental document prepared for a 100-year, 900-acre aggregate mine in Fresno County: Friends of the Kings River v. County of Fresno (2014) 232 Cal.App.4th 105.
 
Andrew is involved with the Urban Land Institute, is an avid golfer and enjoys exploring cities and new development projects, wherever his travels may take him. Andrew is fluent in German.
 
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Sacramento office, Andrew practiced environmental and land use law in Los Angeles for the law firms of Mayer Brown LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP. He is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
