Former County Counsel Ryan Baron Joins Environmental Law Practice Group

IRVINE, CABest Best & Krieger LLP is pleased to welcome Ryan Baron as of counsel in the Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice group. Baron provides clients strategic counsel on federal and state regulations regarding public utilities and the environment as well as critical water and energy infrastructure developments and the implementation of new technologies.
 
A former senior deputy county counsel to the County of Orange, Baron has extensive knowledge in regulatory matters, infrastructure planning and large-scale project development. As county counsel, Baron advised the Public Works, Planning and Waste and Recycling departments of one of the nation’s largest counties. Prior to his 12 years of government service, he practiced at a Washington, D.C. firm representing Fortune 100 companies in regulatory litigation and federal enforcement actions.
 
Baron represents clients on administrative and regulatory matters before federal and state agencies, advocates in rulemaking and adjudicatory proceedings a. He also advises clients on a broad range of matters, including water quality compliance, alternative energy and gas regulation, utility rules and tariffs, climate change, air quality and solid waste.

He is a graduate of San Diego State University and The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Baron currently serves as an adjunct professor at Whittier Law School where he teaches classes on administrative law and energy law. He has also guest lectured at the Chapman University School of Law and the University of California, Irvine.
