Preparing for Changes in the “Vested Rights Doctrine” - Understanding Plan Design Options

BB&K Free Webinar

If the California Supreme Court weakens the “Vested Rights Doctrine” to allow changes to the pension benefits for active employees, what are some of the plan options and design alternatives that California public agencies could consider? Public agency human resources, finance and elected officials will receive a timely introduction to, and overview of:

  • The different types of tax-favored retirement plans available to most public agencies
  • A comparison of how these plans generally work and might be adapted to meet various demographic groups’ needs
  • How some of these plans and designs can be used to adjust the amount of investment risk that is borne by the employer and the employee
