BB&K has significant experience in assisting clients on utility-related permitting matters and in representing clients before the California Public Utilities Commission. Our attorneys currently assist Pacific Gas and Electric Company in obtaining permits from the California Public Utilities Commission to construct electrical substations and transmission facilities, and we advise Pacific Gas and Electric Company on various environmental permitting matters involving electrical facilities, telecommunications facilities, generation interconnections, and leasing of utility properties. BB&K also represents public agencies in administrative law matters pending before the Commission and advises private companies on utility-related service and rates issues.

BB&K's attorneys are also experts at ensuring that projects within the exclusive jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission comply with all relevant environmental statutes, including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the California and Federal Endangered Species Acts, and the State and Federal Clean Water Acts.
