BB&K Selected as Water Law Advisors in $2 billion USAID International Water Project

Best Best & Krieger LLP is pleased to announce its selection as a resource institution providing water policy law advice to Associates in Rural Development (ARD), Inc. 

ARD was recently selected by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as one of five primary contractors for the Integrated Water and Coastal Resources Management Indefinite Quantity Contract (Water IQC II).  The five-year, $2 billion, IQC contract--awarded on September 30, 2004--will provide technical expertise and field support for all aspects of the USAID’s global program in integrated water and coastal resources management.

BB&K’s Environmental & Natural Resources Law Practice Group is an internationally recognized force in water law and water rights.  BB&K attorneys routinely advise clients on all aspects of natural resources, including: Acquisition, development, and maintenance of surface and ground water rights, allocation of scarce water supplies; water quality and wastewater.  Our attorneys have experience with the development of water laws for emerging nations, such as South Africa, Malaysia, Namibia and St. Lucia.  As a member of the ARD team, BB&K will assist in the drafting and implementation of legislation related to the equitable access, management and governance of integrated water resources amongst the project’s targeted, developing nations.
