RIVERSIDE and LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- The California law firm of Best Best & Krieger LLP (BB&K) announces that five of its partners have been named to the Southern California* 2007 Super Lawyers list. The honored attorneys are Franklin C. Adams for bankruptcy and creditor/debtor law, John E. Brown for government and municipal law, Scott H. Campbell for government and municipal law, William R. DeWolfe for business litigation, and Brant H. Dveirin for business litigation.
Franklin C. Adams serves as BB&K's chief bankruptcy counsel. His 25 years of bankruptcy experience includes Chapter 11 debtor representation, creditor representation, Chapter 11 committee representation, and representation of bankruptcy trustees. Adams was one of the founding board members for the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum. He served as its President from 1994 to 1995 and was a Chapter 7 trustee serving on the interim panel from 1990 to 1993. He currently serves as a member of the Mediation Panel for the Central District of California.
John E. Brown chairs BB&K's municipal and redevelopment law practice group. He is a public lawyer specializing in municipal, redevelopment and school law. Brown is the city attorney of Ontario, California. He previously served as city attorney of Desert Hot Springs from 1976 to 1987, Perris from 1981 to 1993, San Jacinto from 1996 to 1998 and 1999 to 2005, and Lafayette from 2002 to 2004. Brown also acts as special or general counsel for a variety of other public agencies. He has served as general counsel to the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District for more than 30 years and also acts as general counsel to the Hi-Desert Water District. He is presently serving as general counsel to the March Joint Powers Authority, as well as the March Inland Port Airport Authority and March JPA Redevelopment Agency, the local reuse authorities for the former March Air Force Base.
Scott H. Campbell is a partner in the municipal law and litigation practice groups of BB&K's Los Angeles office. His practice concentrates on municipal and public entity representation, construction management and litigation, and business and commercial litigation. Campbell has served as assistant and deputy city attorney with many cities in Southern California. He has also been responsible for the supervision of public works projects involving over $150 million in public funding. Campbell is treasurer of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County and a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. His community involvement includes serving St. Anne's -- a charity that provides residential care and community-based services to at-risk young adults, pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children -- as president of its board of trustees and as a member of its board of directors.
William R. DeWolfe is a senior partner in BB&K's Riverside office. He practices civil litigation including business, trust and estate, and real property matters. DeWolfe is an attorney and counselor of the United States Supreme Court and is a member of the Court of Appeal Mediation Program. He is a longtime resident of the City of Riverside and is an active member of many professional and community organizations including serving as past president of the University of California, Riverside Alumni Association, a member and past president of the Citizens University Committee, and a member of the board of trustees of the UC Riverside Foundation. DeWolfe is also a past board member and president of the Riverside Symphony and serves on the board of governors and executive committee of the Idyllwild Arts Foundation.
Brant H. Dveirin is a litigation partner in BB&K's Los Angeles office. He has handled litigation matters in the areas of general business and real estate, construction defects, environmental law, land use, eminent domain, and inverse condemnation. Dveirin's clients include commercial/industrial and residential owners and developers, industrial and manufacturing businesses, commercial lenders, and public agencies. He is a member of the executive committee of the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the cabinet of the Real Estate and Construction Division of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation, the executive committee of the Moriah Society Real Estate Council of the University of Judaism, and the board of directors of the Los Angeles Business Council.
