Case Win: Octavio X v. City of Ontario, et al.

This case involved a plaintiff that claimed three Ontario Police officers used excessive force and failed to protect him during his arrest and apprehension on September 11, 1999. Plaintiff claimed that Ontario Police officers jammed his head in the wheel well of a van and severely beat and stomped him in the course of his arrest. Plaintiff sued the City of Ontario alleging civil rights violations and sought millions in damages. During the 6-day trial in Los Angeles, the Judge dismissed the allegations against two of the Ontario Police officers. The BB&K litigation team put on a strong case on behalf of the City and the jury ruled unanimously in favor of the remaining officer.
