Tyree K. Dorward is an associate in the School Law and Natural Resources Practice Groups of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s San Diego office.  Mr. Dorward joined the firm in 2003 and has focused primarily on school facilities and construction issues, public contracting issues, and environmental compliance.

Mr. Dorward counsels school districts on a wide range of issues involving school facilities and construction, including compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, school site acquisition and the agency approvals necessary to acquire school sites, the purchase, sale, and lease of real and personal property, as well as other general governance issues.

Mr. Dorward also works with a variety of public agency clients including school districts, water districts and municipalities drafting contract language, as well as advising clients on public bidding issues, bonding issues, stop notice claims, and construction disputes.  Mr. Dorward also participates in writing and speaking opportunities involving public contracting issues and has presented a basics of public contracting for school districts course for the extension program at the University of California Riverside.

Mr. Dorward received his B.S. in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from the University of California, Davis in 1997.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in May 2000, and was admitted to the California Bar in December 2000.  Mr. Dorward is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association.
