Intellectual Property Practice

Michael Andelson is a Senior Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group with the law firm of Best, Best & Krieger LLP.  Mr. Andelson is located in the firm’s Indian Wells Office.  His work primarily involves civil litigation with an emphasis in business, intellectual property, and public law-related matters.  He is a 1971 graduate of Hastings College of Law and has practiced law in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area) for 29 years.  He has extensive jury and court trial experience as well as administrative law experience.

In 1996, Mr. Andelson served as lead counsel in a Redevelopment Agency lawsuit that resulted in a judgment in excess of $17 million in favor of the firm’s client.  Mr. Andelson’s trial experience has included both state and federal courts throughout California.

Mr. Andelson’s intellectual property work involves copyright and trademark disputes, as well as Internet law-related issues, such as domain name disputes and infringement claims involving copyright and trademark on the Internet.

In 1988 Mr. Andelson authored a chapter for California’s Continuing Education of the Bar on Civil Discovery Practice.  He has spoken on Intellectual Property issues including trademark, copyright, distance learning, and First Amendment and the Internet at numerous speaking engagements.  He serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the Superior Court in Indio.
