G. Ross Trindle, III is an Associate in the Municipal, Litigation, and Labor/Employment Practice Groups of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Mr. Trindle serves as Deputy City Attorney for the Cities of Bell, Corona, Covina, Downey, and Gardena, primarily handling police litigation, public safety litigation, land use litigation, as well as a broad variety of general municipal matters. Mr. Trindle also serves as special counsel to several local private businesses concerning general labor/employment issues and intellectual property issues. Mr. Trindle acts as Associate Leader for the Constitutional/Civil Rights Litigation Subgroup of the Municipal Practice Group. Mr. Trindle is also actively involved in Southern California High School Mock Trial, serving as an Attorney Coach for Claremont High School and Upland High School.
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger LLP, Mr. Trindle worked several years as an associate with the law firm of Carpenter, Rothans & Dumont, a boutique Los Angeles firm concentrating on municipal litigation defense, where he also acted as the lead Associate for intellectual property/high technology issues. Prior to passing the California bar exam, he worked as an Intern and Law Clerk for Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc. in the Business & Legal Affairs Department, focusing on encryption export compliance, brand/trademark licensing, online services deployment, and other legal and business aspects of the PlayStation2 console. Mr. Trindle has also served as a Research Assistant for the Executive Director of the Broadband Institute of California, a high technology issues think tank located at the Santa Clara University School of Law, as well as a Legal Intern for Rajah & Tann in the Republic of Singapore, the preeminent high technology law firm of Southeast Asia.
Mr. Trindle received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he also was awarded a Certificate in High Technology Law. At Santa Clara, Mr. Trindle was an Honors Moot Court Semi-Finalist and served on the Honors Moot Court Board. Mr. Trindle received his B.A. in Law & Society (Criminal Justice Emphasis) from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Mr. Trindle is admitted to practice in California, the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
