Greta Proctor is an Associate in the Environmental Law & Natural Resources Practice Group of the San Diego office of Best Best & Krieger LLP. She is also a member of the Business Litigation and Sustainable Communities Practice Groups. Ms. Proctor works with both public and private clients in litigation and transactional matters involving air quality, water quality and water rights, the California Environmental Quality Act, sustainable development and global warming, hazardous waste issues, coastal zone regulation, energy issues, and other state and federal environmental statutes, as well as general civil litigation.
Ms. Proctor received her law degree from the University of San Diego, where she graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Ms. Proctor received the Dean’s Outstanding Merit Scholarship for three years, was named Best Oral and Written Advocate in her Lawyering Skills class, and received CALI awards for excellence in Administrative Law, Federal Courts, Constitutional Law, and Securities Regulation. Ms. Proctor also served as Lead Articles Editor for the San Diego Law Review, and published her own article entitled “Reevaluating Capital Punishment: The Fallacy of a Foolproof System, the Focus on Reform, and the International Factor” in the 2007 issue of the Gonzaga Law Review. Ms. Proctor was a member of Phi Delta Phi as well as the School of Law Honor Court and Pro Bono Legal Advocates. Prior to law school, Ms. Proctor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, where she was President of the Honor Society and an avid participant in snow sports.
Ms. Proctor is a member of the State Bar of California, San Diego Bar Association, Association of Environmental Professionals, Lawyer’s Club, and is a regular contributor to the State Bar of California’s Environmental Law Section Update.
