Carissa Beecham is an associate attorney in the Sacramento office.  Her primary practice groups are Municipal Law and Litigation.  She joined Best Best & Krieger LLP after working for the firm as a summer associate.

Ms. Beecham graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law, King Hall in the top 5% of her class and was elected to Order of the Coif, an international academic honor association.  While in law school, Ms. Beecham excelled in appellate advocacy and was judge recruitment chair for the U.C. Davis Moot Court Board and a member of the Traynor Moot Court competition team.  She was awarded the Witkin Award for earning the highest grade in Criminal Procedure.

During law school, Ms. Beecham clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California in the Civil Division.  She also worked as a research assistant for Professor Robert Mikos and as a legal research intern for the lobbying firm of Peterson Consulting, Inc.  Additionally, Ms. Beecham was a teaching assistant in the political science department of U.C. Davis’ undergraduate program.

Prior to law school, Ms. Beecham earned her B.A. with honors in Political Science from U.C. Davis.  She was also a member of the National Championship U.C. Davis Dance Team.
