Fernando Avila in an Associate in the Los Angeles and Riverside offices of Best, Best & Krieger and is a member of its Environmental Law and Natural Resources Practice Group.
Mr. Avila represents public and private clients with regard to the land use entitlement and environmental review processes. He has significant experience regarding compliance with project-oriented environmental requirements, such as those imposed by the California Environmental Quality Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the water supply statutes, Senate Bills 610 and 221, as well as in obtaining traditional land use entitlements such as subdivision maps, conditional use permits, variances, and development agreements.
Mr. Avila graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in June 2001. While there, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and was an editor of the La Raza Law Journal. He obtained an A.B. magna cum laude in the History of Science from Harvard University in 1998.
Mr. Avila is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Real Property and Environmental Law sections of the California State Bar, the Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals, as well as the Harvard Club of Southern California.
