M. Theresa “Tess” Tolentino Meehan is Of Counsel in the Litigation practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Tess practices in the area of business litigation with an emphasis in automotive litigation and electronic discovery.

After graduating from Loyola Law School in 1999, Tess joined Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Riverside office. Tess left the firm in 2001 and joined Honda North America, Inc., where she was in-house counsel for over five years managing a variety of product liability, warranty/consumer fraud, class actions and corporate matters. For those matters involved in litigation, Tess managed all phases through trial and appeal including appearing at settlement conferences and preparing company witnesses to testify at deposition and/or trial. For corporate matters, Tess drafted, revised and negotiated contracts, and provided legal support on a variety of corporate projects. Additionally, Tess co-chaired the Electronic Discovery project where she helped develop and enhance the litigation hold and electronic discovery practice for the Honda companies.

Tess rejoined Best Best & Krieger LLP in 2007 and is practicing in the Sacramento office. Since rejoining the firm, Tess has litigated a variety of business matters including breach of contract, franchise, land use and automotive cases. Additionally, Tess has worked with both public and private entities to develop and/or enhance document retention policies and electronic discovery practices.

Tess belongs to the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the Sacramento County Bar. She is admitted to practice in all courts in California as well as the United States District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
