Michael Torres is an Associate in the Irvine office of Best Best & Krieger LLP, and is a member of the firm’s Municipal practice group.
Mr. Torres provides assistance to the City of Azusa’s Planning Commission as well as the City of Aliso Viejo’s Development Review Committee. Mr. Torres also provides code enforcement services, including misdemeanor criminal prosecution, to the cities of Aliso Viejo, Azusa, Colton, Corona, Lake Forest, Los Alamitos, and Yorba Linda. He also assists various Community Services Districts located throughout Southern California, including Rosamond Community Service District.
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger, Mr. Torres was a Field Representative for then Assemblyman John Campbell (now Congressman representing the 48th district). During law school, he clerked for the Orange County District Attorney and the Huntington Beach City Attorney. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Notre Dame Law School in 2005 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA in 2001.
Mr. Torres was admitted to practice in California and the California Central District Court in 2005. He is active in the Orange County community and is a member of the Irvine Valley College Board of Governors and the League of California Cities Administrative Services Policy Committee. Mr. Torres recently co-authored an article regarding Day Laborer regulation that was published in the California Public Law Journal, an official publication of the State Bar of California Public Law Section.
