Ms. Whitaker is an associate in Best Best & Krieger's Riverside and Los Angeles Offices.  Ms. Whitaker has been involved in mediations and due process hearings before the Office of Administrative Hearings, Special Education Division.  In addition, she advises school districts in the areas of student rights, expulsion proceedings, early intervention and inclusion, civil rights issues, and other education related matters.  

After receiving her J.D. from University of Southern California she spent several years with LexisNexis in their Sales divison, teaching legal research and marketing new products to law school students.   Prior to law school Ms. Whitaker worked in the Inter-Continental Sales division at Netscape Communications.   Additionally, she spent three years with the U.S. Department of Education in the Office of Civil Rights. 

Ms. Whitaker is a native of Kansas.  She is a graduate of the George Washington University where she received her B.A. in International Affairs.
