Dan Roberts is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Mr. Roberts represents both private clients and public entities in a variety of litigation matters in Federal, State, and Bankruptcy courts, with a particular emphasis in federal practice and procedure. His practice areas include commercial disputes, federal civil rights, copyright and trademark, municipal defense, and commercial bankruptcy.
Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger LLP, Mr. Roberts served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Virginia A. Phillips, United States District Judge for the Central District of California.
Mr. Roberts graduated from the University of Southern California Law School in 1999 and was elected to the Order of the Coif, an international legal honor society. While in law school, Mr. Roberts served as a staff member and Senior Editor of the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal, in which he published his student note. He received the American Jurisprudence award for his study in legal and equitable remedies. He served for two years in law school as a student supervisor for the school’s in-house clinical program, which allowed him to appear before several Federal District Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Roberts received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in Political Science and American Studies from the University of Southern California in 1996.
Mr. Roberts was admitted to practice in California in 1999. He is also admitted to practice before all Federal District Courts within California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
