Jamie L. Raymond is Of Counsel in the Municipal Law Practice Group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Ms. Raymond’s primary focus includes government, land use and planning, elections and public finance law. Additionally, she frequently advises our city clients on conflicts of interest issues, the Ralph M. Brown Act, the California Public Records Act and telecommunication and internet technology issues. Ms. Raymond serves as the Assistant City Attorney for the cities of Yorba Linda, Los Alamitos, Aliso Viejo and Claremont.
Ms. Raymond regularly advises planning commissions and attends their meetings in the cities of Yorba Linda, Los Alamitos and Ontario. She frequently assists planning department staff for several municipalities with various land use and zoning issues. Ms. Raymond represents public agencies in administrative hearing matters and has appeared before the Orange County Superior Court and Riverside County Superior Court to represent and assist the cities of Yorba Linda, Costa Mesa, and Aliso Viejo in prosecuting municipal code violations. Ms. Raymond has authored articles on mobile home rent control laws and second unit regulations.
Ms. Raymond is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Orange County City Attorney Association, Riverside County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She has also been a presenter at several conferences on topics related to Proposition 218, the Political Reform Act, planning and zoning laws, the Ralph M. Brown Act, the California Public Records Act, and public agency internet technology issues.
Ms. Raymond received her undergraduate degree in Social Ecology from the University of California at Irvine. She was admitted to the practice of law in 1997 after receiving her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
