Edward W. Lee is a Partner in the Municipal Law Practice Group of Best Best & Krieger. Mr. Lee has over thirty years of experience in dealing with redevelopment and municipal law issues. His practice areas include Municipal, Brown Act, Land use and planning, Redevelopment and Eminent Domain law. He currently serves as the City Attorney of the Cities of Bell, Covina and Gardena. Mr. Lee was recently appointed City Attorney for Downey, effective July 1, 2007. He previously served as the City Attorney of South Pasadena from 1991 to 1996, and as Assistant City Attorney of Covina from 1987-2005 and City of Hermosa Beach from 1989-1994.
He also acts as special or general counsel for various redevelopment agencies. Mr. Lee has served as Assistant Special Counsel for the Riverside Redevelopment Agency and Assistant General Counsel for Compton Redevelopment Agency.
Mr. Lee graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1977 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1985.
