Labor & Employment Practice


William E. "Rick" Robinson is a Partner in the Sacramento office and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group and Litigation Practice Group.  Mr. Robinson has over thirty years of experience as an employment law attorney and litigator.  His experience includes employment litigation, as well as advice and counsel to public and private employers on many aspects of personnel management, including employee termination, disciplinary matters, employee handbooks, employment contracts, confidentiality and non-competition matters, wage and hour issues, workplace harassment, background checks, and leave policies.


Mr. Robinson also provides in-service training to clients on personnel topics such as workplace harassment, personnel records and employee/applicant background checks, the federal Family and Medical Leave Act and the California Family Rights Act.


Mr. Robinson received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Amherst College, where he was awarded the George Rogers Taylors Price in American Studies and was president of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.  He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Santa Clara where he was articles editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and vice president of the Student Bar Association.


Mr. Robinson belongs to the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and Sacramento County Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
