Melissa Woo is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group of Best Best & Krieger LLP.  Ms. Woo practices in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis in real and intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, and construction and other public works litigation.  Ms. Woo represents both public entities and private clients in state and federal court proceedings throughout the state of California.  She has experience with all stages of litigation, including writs and appeals.  Ms. Woo has handled several successful appeals in the appellate courts. Prior to joining Best Best & Krieger LLP in 2000, Ms. Woo practiced in the areas of product liability and toxic tort litigation defense.

Ms. Woo received her Bachelor of Arts in political science, with minors in history, law & society, and science from the University of California, San Diego in 1994  at Warren College.  At Warren College, she received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.  In 1996, Ms. Woo was a judicial extern to the Honorable John G. Davies in the United States District Court, Central District.   She received her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1997. 

Ms. Woo is a member of the State Bar of California and the State Bar’s Litigation and Intellectual Property sections.  She is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Lawyer’s Club and the Asian Business Association.
