Mr. Erwin is a Partner in the Municipal & Estate Planning Law Practice Groups of Best Best & Krieger LLP and he is the Office Managing Partner in the firm’s Indian Wells office.  Prior to joining the firm in October 1986, he was with the firm of Erwin, Andelson & Eldred, as well as Marsh, Moore & Cologne in the Coachella Valley. 

Mr. Erwin has experience in all areas of public law, having participated in municipal law zoning, land use, and local government since 1962 in all aspects.  He has represented public agencies in all types of municipal litigation.  Over the years, he has provided municipal legal services to the Cities of Palm Desert, Indio, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Desert Hot Springs, Needles, and Cathedral City.  He is currently City Attorney for the City of Palm Desert.

Mr. Erwin is a member of the State Bar of California, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Desert Bar Association.  He is a charter member of the Desert Estate Planning Council.  He is a member of the Public Law Section of the California Bar and a past member of the Executive Committee of that organization.

Mr. Erwin graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. Degree in Government in 1957 and the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1958.  He has been in an estate planning practice as well as municipal law since 1962.
