Ward Simmons is an Associate in the Natural Resources Practice Group of Best Best & Krieger LLP.  His practice areas include environmental, water and natural resources law.

Mr. Simmons represents both public and private clients in administrative proceedings and civil litigation arising under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”), the Mitigation Fee Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (“NEPA”), the state and federal Endangered Species Acts, and water rights and quality.  Mr. Simmons contributes monthly articles to the California Water Law and Policy Reporter.

Mr. Simmons received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2003 from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law.  While in school, Mr. Simmons participated in the Moot Court program, received three Witkin Awards, and worked for a semester as a judicial extern with the Honorable Frank C. Damrell, Jr. of the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.  Prior to law school, Mr. Simmons sold agricultural chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides, in the Imperial Valley and still maintains his Pest Control Advisor license and Certified Crop Advisor certificate.  He received his Masters in Business Administration degree from Cornell University in 1984 and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis in 1982.

Mr. Simmons is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the Riverside County Bar Association.
