Charity B. Schiller joined Best Best & Krieger in 2004 and is an Associate in the firm’s Environmental Law and Natural Resources Practice Group.  Ms. Schiller advises both public and private clients on a wide variety of environmental and water issues, including drainage and stormwater runoff, stormwater permitting, compliance with State and federal water quality regulations, and other issues arising under the State or federal water acts.

Ms. Schiller also reviews environmental documents and advises clients regarding all aspects of projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  In addition, Ms. Schiller provides clients with representation in civil litigation proceedings arising under CEQA, NEPA, and land use laws.  

Ms. Schiller graduated with honors from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2004.  While in law school, Ms. Schiller served as an editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and received the Sorenson Award for writing excellence.  Ms. Schiller earned her graduate degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from the University of California, Riverside, in 2001 and her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon in 2000.

Ms. Schiller regularly publishes articles on a variety of water supply and water quality issues and is a member of the State Bar of California, the Riverside County Bar Association, the Environmental Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Inland Empire Association of Environmental Professionals.  In addition, Ms. Schiller serves as a pro bono attorney on a number of matters.
