Michael Summerour joined Best Best & Krieger in 1984, and has been a Partner with the firm since 1991.   

Mr. Summerour’s practice focuses on litigation, with an emphasis on defense of labor and employment matters, including claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour and class action disputes.  He has successfully defended employers and management in both state and federal courts, and in binding arbitration hearings.  He is also experienced in representing employers in administrative proceedings, including disciplinary and termination hearings.  

In addition to employment litigation, Mr. Summerour has over twenty years of experience in handling all aspects of general business litigation in the areas of breach of contract, real property and secured transactions, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, landlord/tenant, defamation, fraud, interference with contract and other business torts.  He has successfully defended and prosecuted cases through both trial and appeal.

Mr. Summerour obtained his bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and his J.D. degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.  He is a member of the Riverside County Bar Association and Federal Bar Association.  He lives in Riverside with his wife and two daughters.
