
Cathy Ta is an associate with the Bankruptcy and Litigation practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Ms. Ta’s bankruptcy experience includes extensive work in adversary proceedings and representation of debtors, creditors, and trustees.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ta served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marvin Isgur, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Texas.
Ms. Ta earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 2008. During law school, she was a Dean's Scholar and a research assistant to property and tax law professor, Theodore Seto. She was also a law clerk to the Western Center on Law & Poverty and a conflict resolution specialist for the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center.
Ms. Ta is a 2003 alum of Swarthmore College. She received a Bachelor of Arts for her double major in political science and economics.
Ms. Ta was a panelist at the 27th Annual Advanced Business Bankruptcy Course of the State Bar of Texas. She was a member of the Moller-Foltz Bankruptcy American Inn of Court from 2008 to 2010.
