
Stefanie Morris is an associate in the Environmental Law & Natural Resources practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Sacramento office. Ms. Morris specializes in California and Nevada water law, with extensive experience with a wide variety of water-related issues. She represents both public and private clients such as the Truckee Meadows Water Authority, the City of Corona, Los Angeles County, City of Santa Maria, and ranchers. She has worked on water rights in the Santa Maria Groundwater Basin, Antelope Valley Groundwater Basin and the Santa Ana River. Her areas of expertise include water rights, groundwater adjudications, and water rights litigation. Ms. Morris also represents clients before the State Water Resources Control Board on issues including surface water rights and changes in the location and scope of wastewater discharges.
Ms. Morris’s speaking engagements include addressing water law issues and topics in ethics. She has made presentations for the County Counsel’s Association of California’s Hazardous Materials and Solid Waste semi-annual conference and the Association of California Water Agencies conference, as well as the Nevada Water Law and Colorado River continuing legal education seminars, the Special Districts Institute and the annual conference for the American Escrow Association.
Ms. Morris graduated from Loyola Law School in 2005. She graduated in 2001 from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a degree in Business.
Ms. Morris was admitted to practice in California in 2005 and in Nevada in 2008, and is active in both states. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California. Ms. Morris is a member of the Truckee-Tahoe Bar Association and the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association.
