The credentials of BB&K lawyers typify our national reputation
As a leading law firm in the nation’s most populous state, Best Best & Krieger has an impact well beyond California and the West.
BB&K attorneys have successfully argued a number of important matters before the U.S. Supreme Court. Our reputation in water rights issues led to one of our partners being appointed by the U.S. Supreme Court as a Special Master to resolve a water dispute between Kansas and Colorado - a controversy recently settled after more than 20 years of debate. Lawyers from our firm have represented organizations with a national impact, such as the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
Five members of our firm were selected by peers for inclusion in the prestigious directory of The Best Lawyers in America. In 2009, one of our attorneys, Ricardo Soto, was appointed by President Obama as the deputy assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
On the international scene, with one of the top legal practices devoted to water resources, members of our firm have helped to craft water laws in South Africa, Trinidad and Pakistan. And our managing partner, Eric Garner, became the first American and the youngest lawyer to chair the International Bar Association’s Water Law Committee.
With California's vigorous laws, what starts in the West often spreads eastward and abroad. Our attorneys can provide important insight on state legislation and trends that lead to those laws.
